Stop the propaganda, Greg Gutfeld

Hello, Greg Gutfeld, of the Fox News Channel, one of the trolls that worsens the reputation of Rupert Murdoch’s cable spawn.

This is not a Fox problem. It is a Fox personality problem. Specifically the personalities who are not journalists, but who are pigeon-toed propagandists. Exactly the mirror image of truth-shifting personalities on MS NOW. The clowns operate in a landscape of their own imagination.

The topic at hand is the repeated, and erroneous, statement that all current political violence exclusively is directed at the Right from the Left. Gutfeld has stated this lie many times. And it is a lie because attacks on Democrats have been widely reported. Even on Fox. Assuming he watches his own network. He appears on two Fox shows, which gives him the opportunity to tell the same jokes twice, and earning an estimated $7 million+ for his efforts.

Given to wearing polo shirts and what seem to be carpet remnants on air,  Gutfeld has said, “We  call them names, and they try to kill us,” often pointing at the assassination attempts against President Donald J. Trump.

The reality is that political violence in this troubled nation comes from both sides, with the rate going up and down depending on who is in power. Britannica provides a useful roundup here. 

But for my purposes — to educate Gutfeld and those like him who have purposeful political amnesia — here’s a list going back just six years of attacks on Democrats by right-wing extremists (and I am leaving out the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol). All were widely reported.

• Late 2025/Early 2026 (Arizona): A Democratic National Committee office in Arizona was targeted in multiple shooting incidents, with bullets fired into the front door and windows.
• June 2025 (Minnesota): Former Minnesota House Speaker and Democratic State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, were shot and killed in their home.
• June 2025 (Minnesota): Democrat State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, were shot multiple times in their home, but survived.
• April 2025 (Pennsylvania): The official residence of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was fire-bombed while he and his family were inside.
• Late 2024/Early 2025 (Arizona): Shootings occurred at a campaign office for Vice President Kamala Harris.
• Nov 3, 2024 (Florida): A 17-year-old was arrested after allegedly punching a 70-year-old woman at a campaign rally for Kamala Harris.
• Oct 2022 (San Francisco, CA): David DePape broke into the home of Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, attacking her husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer.
• Jan 6, 2021 (Washington, D.C.): Pipe bombs were placed outside the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters.
• Oct 2020 (Michigan): A plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was foiled, with 13 people linked to a militia group arrested.   

So, Gutfeld, cut us all a break and stop the bullshit.
